Water gushes from a fire hydrant

Eldersburg, Md. (Map, News) - Fire hydrants will be flushed today through Friday in the Southeast section of the Freedom District in Eldersburg, according to the Carroll County Bureau of Utilities.

Flushing will happen between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Hilltop and Clipper Hill Estates sections of the Freedom District including MacBeth Way, Pommel Drive, Saddle Drive, Brimfield Circle and Littlewood Court.

Residents should not use high-water volume appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers during the flushing because of the pressure loss. Water will also be cloudy up to an hour when the hydrant is flushed in the immediate area.
