Towson beat Sacred Heart, 14-9, Friday at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The win comes three days after they lost for the first time since mid-March.

Sacred Heart had the lead going into halftime, but Towson used a 4-0 run at the start of the third quarter to take a lead that they would not relinquish for the rest of the game. The Tigers’ Bobby Griebe, Cryder DiPietro and Kyle Batton each lead the team in scoring with two goals. With the win Towson improves its record to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in conference. The Tigers’ next game is on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the road against Delaware.

UMBC COASTS TO WIN OVER HARTFORD: UMBC scored many first half goals and then coasted to a 15-8 win at Hartford on Saturday. The Retrievers led 10-2 at halftime and used eight different goal scorers en route to the win. With the victory UMBC improves its record to 6-4 and 1-1 in conference. Hartford has one overall win and zero conference wins this season. Drew Westervelt and Kyle Wimer each scored three goals to lead the Retrievers in scoring. UMBC took advantage of their once 12-goal lead to give a playing time for a lot of players. In total 38 UMBC players saw action, including three goalies. The Retrievers next game is on Saturday against Binghamton at 7 p.m. at UMBC.

GREYHOUNDS SUFFER LOSS: Loyola lost for the first time since February when Rutgers beat the Greyhounds 17-7 on Saturday in Piscataway, N.J. It was the Greyhounds first conference loss of the year.

Loyola trailed by only two goals at half, but Rutgers scored nine straight times in the second half, including six goals in the fourth quarter. Rutgers had six multi-goal scorers, including game leading scorer Mike Dugan who found the net four times. The only multi-goal scorer for the Greyhounds was Patrick Kennedy with two.

With the loss Loyola is now 5-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Loyola’s next game is Saturday at Georgetown at 1 p.m.
