The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine remained ranked No. 2 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2008 annual ranking of the nation’s medical schools.

“It is an honor to be rated No. 2 among U.S. medical schools. We are in the best of company,” said Edward Miller, dean of the medical faculty.

The university ranked first again in internal medicine and biomedical and bioengineering, and moved up a spot to first in geriatric care. Some specialties moved down in the rankings, including drug and alcohol abuse from first to third and pediatrics from third to fourth.
