Towson beat Robert Morris 16-3 at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday. The No. 14-ranked Tigers dominated the game, especially on offense. The Tigers outshot the Colonials 63-24 during the game and the Tigers led 15-1 in the first half.

The Colonials used four different goalies throughout the game as they faced a ton of offensive pressure. Attacker Bobby Griebe and midfielders Adam Hagelin and Nick Williams each scored three times to lead Towson in scoring.

The win pushes the Tigers record to 5-2 and their next game is on the road against University of Maryland Baltimore County at UMBC stadium Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

UMBC FALLS TO ALBANY: UMBC trailed Albany for all of Saturday’s game and eventually lost 13-9 on the road against No. 2-ranked Great Danes in Albany, N.Y. The loss for the No. 20 Retrievers drops their record 4-4.

Despite losing the game on the scoreboard, UMBC was better than Albany in shots (42-33) and groundballs (33-30) but scoring only one goal in the first half hurt the Retriever’s chances later in the game. UMBC’s next game is on April 3 at 7:30 p.m. against Towson at UMBC Stadium.

TAR HEELS NIP BLUE JAYS: Johns Hopkins lost to No. 15-ranked North Carolina 13-10 after the Tar Heels outscored the Blue Jays 4-1 in the fourth quarter on Saturday at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Despite jumping to an early 3-0 lead, No. 5 Johns Hopkins could not contain the balanced Tar Heel attack. During the game, the Tar Heels had eight different players score goals. With the loss, Johns Hopkins’ record falls to 4-3 and their next game is home against Duke at 1 p.m. Saturday.

VIRGINIA EDGES MARYLAND: Virginia beat Maryland 12-8 on Saturday afternoon at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, Va.

The teams were tied four times and had five lead changes in the first half, until the No. 2-ranked Cavaliers scored five straight from the second to third quarter. Maryland outscored Virginia in the fourth, but ultimately it was not enough to create a substantial comeback.

Virginia’s Ben Rubeor led scorers with five goals and Max Ritz led the Terps with three. The No. 10 Terps’ are now 7-3 and next play at Navy in Annapolis Friday at 7 p.m.
