Volunteers needed on weekends at nature center

Carroll County (Map, News) - Carroll residents with a passion for nature can volunteer at Piney Run Nature Center in Carroll County. Volunteers are needed mainly from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays for answering phone calls, greeting visitors, providing care for animal care and using the cash register and computer entry database. Training will be held at 2 p.m. April 21 and 22. Call 410-795-6043 or e-mail pineyrun.carr.org.

I think this is a great way for the seniors to remain active and social and a great way to help others. We do that too at the Lansing Library in Lansing Il. We donate slippers to the soldiers as well as premy blankets and hats to the hospitals. There is also a Christmas Tree decorated every year with crochet mittens, hats, and scarfs for the needy.
