Fairfax County will host the first National Conference on the Creative Economy, the county’s Economic Development Authority announced. The conference, set for Oct. 24-25, will “examine the role that a strong, creative work force plays in the growth and success of businesses and communities in an information-based economy,” according to a news release. The conference will be held at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner Hotel and feature keynote speakers George Mason University professor Richard Florida, author Alvin Toffler and Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman.
