Meet Angelina’s brand-new son

SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - It’s official! Angelina Jolie has a new son: Vietnam native Pax Thien Jolie, almost 3½. His name combines the Latin word for “peace” and the Vietnamese word for “sky.”

According to the director of the Ho Chi Minh City orphanage where he had lived since 2003, the child, formerly known as Pham Quang Sang, was abandoned at a hospital at birth.

Reportedly, the boy cried when he met his new mom at an adoption ceremony.

“She told me she understands — that it’s normal for all young children to be scared,” the orphanage director told Time, adding that later, after Angie took Pax aside to comfort him, “he was OK, very cheerful and happy. He even played with his new brother, Maddox.”

Britney: Rehab Romance?

Her stay at the Promises rehab facility isn’t keeping Britney Spears off the market for men. The treatment-seeking “Toxic” singer is “growing very close” to rock guitarist Kevin Filyaw, he tells Web site TMZ.

Though he won’t confirm they are dating, K.Fil says that attending AA meetings together has been a bonding experience for him and Britney. “I love her, I support her 100 percent and we are close,” he declares.

So what about buzz of Brit reuniting with that other Kevin — ex-husband Kevin Federline? Not gonna happen, an Us report says.

A source told the magazine’s Web site, “I talked to Kevin about Britney and he said he’s not getting back together with Britney. At least not right now. He just wants to be a friend for her. She has told him she would get back with him, but he’s trying to just do the right thing for everyone right now, but he doesn’t want to go back there again.”

Britney, honey, maybe you should stay single and concentrate on yourself right now? Just a thought.

TomKat Tension?

Is trouble brewing between famously joined-at-the-hip couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes? Although their outings to Cruise’s son Connor’s sporting events are usually warm-and-fuzzy family affairs, Star reports that TomKat arrived at a March 11 basketball game in separate cars — and their tension during the game was obvious.

“Both Tom and Katie looked absolutely miserable,” a source observed to the magazine’s Web site. “I think they were definitely furious with each other.”

Why the sudden chill between the newlyweds? Perhaps because Katie has strayed from the Scientology fold.

“Tom probably feels that Katie has drifted from the path,” a source reportedly told Star, so he is pressuring her to go through the process of being “retrained in the ways of Scientology.”

Hmm … what is it about the word “retrained” that sounds a little creepy?

Lindsay: Car Trouble

Wild-child actress Lindsay Lohan was behind the wheel in an incident that sent a photographer to the hospital, but her account of what happened varies drastically from his.

La Linds says that as her BMW pulled up to a NYC hotel, a member of the swarm of waiting paparazzi jumped onto the hood of her car. But according to photographer Giovanni Arnold, he was just standing in front of the car when Lindsay suddenly put it in reverse, then drive, knocking him onto the pavement.

“She got out of the car to look at Giovanni on the ground as she’s talking to a cop, and then she’s allowed to leave,” related an exec of photo agency INF, Arnold’s employer. “The other photographers there threw a fit that she was allowed to leave. The cops then asked her friends to call her to come back, and she came back.” LiLo reportedly returned to the scene of the skirmish after an hour.

Arnold visited a hospital to treat a knee bruise. As of press time, the New York Police Department was still looking into the incident, and Lindsay’s rep had no comment.
