Badolato will teach how to create a functional grocery list so that people don’t “just pick up whatever looks good, and [to find out] what to look for on a label.”
“I have a degree in this, and sometimes I’m misled [by labels],” Badolato said. “I’ll have a snack and read the label and say, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m having 20 grams of fat.’ ”
She suggests writing a grocery list and planning meals so that shoppers don’t spend as much time or money in the store.
Badolato’s lecture, titled Navigating the Grocery Store and Reading Food Labels, is at 6 p.m. Whole Foods Harbor East is located at 1001 Fleet St. in Baltimore. For more information, call 410-528-1640.
