Dennis Oliver, the resident of the apartment on the 1900 block of Page Street, told police he stumbled over the dead body about 1:40 a.m. Monday after returning from a two-week vacation to Humboldt County.
Oliver, an artist, said he had smelled a foul odor when he entered the dark apartment. Fleeing without looking at the man’s face, Oliver told police the body could have been that of a cat sitter who had access to his apartment while he was out of town. He also told police that the head was covered with a bag. Police later found that Glasser’s body was also naked and handcuffed.
Police said they had not yet determined if the case is a homicide.
“Based on the medical examiner’s conclusion on the cause of death, we’ll be able to determine if this was a homicide,” police Sgt. Neville Gittens said.
