The Democrat also tells The Associated Press that he will continue to compel the Legislature to meet in Albany until it approves spending cuts and new revenue sources he's proposed, or votes them down so voters can see where each lawmaker stands.
Paterson blames what he calls some irresponsible lawmakers in both parties,saying they've made difficult choices more difficult by failing to reach agreement on fiscally responsible measures to close the budget gap.
He says Monday that failure to act will force the state to borrow and consider one-shot gimmicks adopted by other strapped states.
