The Energy Department says about 2,500 full-time jobs have been created or saved at the Hanford nuclear reservation by federal stimulus money.

Sen. Patty Murray saw some of that money at work Thursday at Hanford's HAMMER training and education center where people are being trained for cleanup jobs.

About $224 million in stimulus money for Hanford has been spent to date.

Murray told The Tri-City Herald Washington is third in the nation in jobs created by stimulus money.
