Police Chief Warren Evans tells reporters Tuesday that the crime spree likely started in late September.
He says the suspects were arrested over the past two weeks. The five adults range in age from 17 to 20.
Carjacked minivans were used in some of the holdups. The suspects would jump from the sliding doors and rob pedestrians.
