D.C. lawmakers are taking a close look at the text of a proposed same-sex marriage bill.

On Tuesday council members on the public safety and judiciary committee will review the text of the current bill before it goes to the full council.

The council held two hearings on the bill after it was introduced in early October. During the hearings supporters and opponents explained why the bill should or shouldn't pass. They also made suggestions about language they believed needed to be fixed.

The bill is expected to be voted on in December.
