NATO, Afghan police seize tons of bomb material

It is surely the right decision for US to send more troops to Afghanistan. US started the war and therefore US must end the war as well. It is shameful to start the war and quit half way after realizing that the Talibans are though to defeat. More troops could also means more easy targets for the Talibans to shoot at. The Talibans have nothing to lose because they believe that have only one choice. Either to win or to win. Because to die in fighting the American infidels is to get martyrdom and they believe they will go to heaven. If Americans quit the war, it is also a win for the Talibans.

Wow people have really forgotton what we military members are over there fighting to defend I used to tell my friends and families that no one forgot that they are just ignorant but now I see differently for those of you that disagree read up and try to understand what we are doing over there and for those of you that do understand SEMPER FI

Afghanistan is a quagmire. Period. Yet we are going to send in 13,000 more troops. Iraq is now at the point where we can leave, but we won't leave any time soon. Obama said that he would get us out, but he is dragging his feet on this. Those U.S. built bases in Iraq are huge & they are permanent. This is all par for the ccourse right now: 1.) Obama is dragging his feet on Iraq. 2.) The present gov't in Iraq tried to steal the election, yet Obama is 3.) sending more troops to Afghanistan. 4.) Obama said that he would get rid of indefinite detention but now defends it. A judge said that three men indefinitely detained at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan had to be given their day in court, yet Obama is STILL fighting this. 5.) Obama said that he would get rid of warrantless wiretapping, but he now defnds it and actually expanded its use. We will not be leaving Iraq or Afghanistan anytime soon. Obama is not the man we thought that he was. Bush stunk % Obama stinks, too.

What is the real mission of American in Afghanistan. ? To establish democracy ? Is it to kill the so called terrorist Osama ? How many Americans were killed in 9/11 compared to hundred of thousands of iraqis, Afghans, Somalis, Sudanaese by the American bombs ?Is Irag a better place for the Iraqis now after American invasion ? Is Somalia a better place for Somalians after US interference. Is Sudanese life better after US interference in Sudanese politics ? There are 2 common factor in all the above countries that US has decided to interfere. It is Islam and oil. If US did not attacked the above countries (directly or indirectly through proxy war)then there is no need to rebuild the countries. Now Iraq has been thrown back probably 20 years behind time (by US/mossad systematic killing of Iraqis intellects as well as destruction of Iraq infrastructures that were built by Saddam Husin. The oppressor will fall and disgraced.

i want to first say that the american troops that are in afganistan are there to help protect there way of life! we are not in that country to destroy there worlds but to help rebuild it. since my husband has been there they have opened medical facilities and schools that have not been open for 7 years. i am proud to say that my husband has been apart of helping to rebuild afganistan and to help give the children there a safer place to live and grow up and to be given the chance to go to school!

My son who is a Sergeant based where these 8 soldiers were killed just recently left for leave on Sept 22nd. I flew out to see him in Colorado on Oct 1st. While returning home on Oct 4th, I received a call from him telling me about this disaster. Three of these soldiers that he leads were from his platoon. He is still waiting to hear about the other 5 soldiers. By the grace of God my son was spared. As a mother, I feel selfish because I am glad my son is alive. My heart goes out to the families of these brave soldiers. My son feels guilt for not being there to fight along with his troops. By the grace of God he spared my son. He will return in 5 more days and again I will feel the stress of not knowing his destiny. The base where these troops are stationed is a very dangerous area to be in. More Nato forces will be killed unless NATO quickly get out of Afghanistan. The Talibans are there to stay because Afghanistan is their country and motherland. Therefore get out of there because NATO has nothing to gain and there is no need to expand NATO sphere of influence and control over the other nations. The earth is big enough for everybody. The Taliban mujahideen will fight to death because they have no choice. Either to fight or be killed by the Americans.

Dear Abdul Pashtun, I think you have been misled by what you read from the mass media. You must understand that international mass media is controlled by US/Israel. The imperialist fully understand that war cannot be won through military strength only but through tight control of world media. That's why Al-Jazeera office in Kabul was amongst the first victim of American aerial bombing when US "invaded" Afghanistan 8 years ago. Then US pressured Qatar to sell off Al-Jazeera to Media mogul , Rupert Murdoch, citing reason that Al-Jazeera is anti-US. AFP, Reuters, CNN etc employ professional spin doctors to potray bad guy as good and vice versa. Just look at how these spin doctors report the election fraud in Afghanistan in comparison to the recent Iranian election results. Iran was potrayed as pariah state but the whole world know that the election fraud in Afghanistan was worst but US still need Hamid Karzai to be their puppet president.

Osama has long died and CIA knew it very well. But US need to set a military base in Afghanistan for some other reasons. Hamid Karzai will eventually be elected as the President but for now the media has to play down the election fraud issue (damage control) and more time is needed to brain- wash the world and the public to make them believe the election results is acceptable. Putting Hamid Karzai as the American puppet leader there will not help because he doesn't command respect from the Afghans. Furthermore this war is not winnable and sending more American troops will only make it easier for the Talibans because they would have more sitting ducks to be killed coupled by the fact that US marines have low morale and no clear reason to fight. The solution is to get out of Afghanistan now.

It is sad to hear more American deaths. There will be more Americans killed by the Talibans until US decide to call it the day. It is going to be just another Vietnam. The Talibans are a different breed of people who fight not only for their country but also for their religion. No matter what the media said about Talibans, the truth is they are the victim of American imperialism and they are fighting for good course. History has shown that the nation that oppress people will eventually disintegrate. America is on the decline and is rotting faster. Americans only bring destruction to countries where Americans decide to interfere. Is is all for the control of oil and resources and to maintain US Dollar supremacy as the world currency. Look what happen to Somalia, Iraq and Pakistan still burning all in the name of democracy and fight against terrorism. God will not let the oppressor has the free hand.

Americans should just get out of Afghanistan. Let the Afghans live peacefully and restore the country. We have dropped too much bombs already there and killed thousands of Afghans. I believe we should introduce democracy in friendly Islamic country such as Saudi arabia, yemen, Egypt and all other close friends of US. Just because these arabs are obedient to us, it does not mean we should abandon the principle of democracy that we advocate. Let practice what we preach.

The Taliban (mujahideen) are defending their country against the NATO aggression They have a clear reason why they fight to their death unlike the Americans, British and other invaders. They will slowly but surely win the war. The earlier the Taliban can get rid of the NATO forces, the better for the life of the Aghans. Afhanistan was a lot better before decided to introduce so called Democracy in Aghanistan. Why not NATO introduce democary in their close allies such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt ?

The Parlimentarian is right. The foreign military has not changed its conduct since the time of Bush, how can you justify firing on a hospital, and how can you argue there were no civilians when there were medical people inside?

Unfortunately this kind of conduct by US and NATO forces have turned the Afghan people against the presence of foreign troops. There will be no stability behaving this way.

how history is re-written as propaganda and re-packaged as a wishful thinking. it was not just paying Sunni gunmen to point their weapons away from Americans But the truce called by the Shia which brought the violence to a close in Iraq to give the pretense to the American people that Afghanistan is just another Iraq is not only wrong but will make the withdrawal a lot more bloody then it needs be. this is no way that America can with the use of arms impose any kind of stability on Afghanistan.. it did not work for the Russians or the British or the Moguls or even for Alexandria the great. I have always been a supporter of a police action in Afghanistan to bring the criminals of 9/11 to justice but Bush has muddied the water so much I can not see any way out ! unless America will also copy their escape route in Iraq and cut and run when the American people are no longer willing to except the thousands dead and hundreds of thousands injured.

It says in the Quran to educate ourselves, do not stop learning. So why is it so "haram" for a girl to be educated? This is something I will never understand. Why does this country want the women to remain stupid? Some one please explain that to me.
