State prosecutors say a man who owned title companies has been indicted on 24 charges involving felony theft.

Sixty-seven-year-old George Sybert Sr. of Reisterstown was arrested on Monday. The indictment against him was returned on Nov. 4 and he will be arraigned on Dec. 10.

Prosecutors say Sybert owned and/or operated Maryland Title Company in Baltimore. The alleged thefts were from escrow accounts and were for more than $7 million.

Prosecutors say most of those thefts took place between 2005 and 2008.

Sybert previously owned American Title Guarantee and Maryland Commercial Title.
