Gas prices up a penny in Mass.

I have waited severl months to no avail for a response from anyone in or out of government to explain to me the major inconsistency in the price fluctuations. When the price of crude escalates due to fallacious excuses i.e. tropical storms etc and the cost of gas at the pump follows commensurately. Example crude oil on May 9, 2008 was $123.15 per barrel and the price at the gas pump went to $3.61 per gallon. The price increase spiked was immediate and sharp, within twenty-four hours or less every gas station in the country reflects it at the pump. Now explain to the American people today, four months later September 8, 2008 the price of crude oil is back down to $100.00 per barrel and continuing to fall. Yet the price at the gas pump is from $3.59 - $3.65 per gallon. The decrease is at a snails pace, slow and deliberate leaving a difference of approximately .50 cents which will never return to the equilibrium price of $3.08 of March 8, 2008.
