Funeral services will be held for a New York state trooper killed in an on-duty crash in the Hudson Valley last week.

The services for David Lane will be held late Monday morning at Immaculate Conception Church in the Jefferson County village of Brownville, just outside Watertown in northern New York.

Lane was a graduate of General Brown High School in nearby Dexter. A four-year veteran of the state police, he also served Iraq and Afghanistan with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division.

Lane died last Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision on a road in the town of Catskill, where he was stationed. Authorities say his patrol car hit a utility pole after he tried to pass another vehicle.

Lane is survived by his parents, brother and fiance.
