Moment scored on runs of two, one and 19 yards to help the Wildcats (4-5, 3-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) win for the fourth time in their last five games. It was also their first win at home in five tries this season.
After trailing 24-20 at halftime, Moment broke a 19-yard touchdown run with 10:09 left in the third quarter to put Bethune-Cookman up for good. His touchdown was the only score of the second half, as Hampton's Jordan Stovall missed two field goals (from 41 yards in the third quarter and from 20 in the fourth).
Hampton (4-5, 2-4) had one final chance to win the game in the fourth quarter, but a potential game-winning pass by Hampton's David Lagree was intercepted in the end zone by Bethune-Cookman's Michael Williams with 41 seconds to play.
Quarterback Matthew Johnson threw 10-for-16 with 117 passing yards for the Wildcats.
Hampton was paced by running back LaMarcus Coker, who rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. Legree added 113 passing yards for two touchdowns, while Isiah Thomas finished with 55 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hampton totaled 82 more total yards than the Wildcats, but allowed Bethune-Cookman to maintain possession for 35 minutes during the contest.
