Gov. Timothy M. Kaine has created a committee to help ensure that all Virginians are counted in the 2010 census.

The Virginia Complete Count Committee will serve as the central conduit of information in the effort.

It also will facilitate the sharing of ideas and resources between various communities across the state.

Census data helps determine how roughly $400 billion in federal money is distributed to state and local governments annually.

It also is used in determining legislative and congressional districts.
