Obama to address economy, Fort Hood shooting

President Obama's change of tone ( condemning Ahmadinejad with more serious and plain words), and especially admitting that Mousavi is indeed much different than Ahmadinejab were both most appreciated. As an Iranian citizen, I believe that President Obamma (and other western leaders) should not start any dialogue with Iran as long as this cheater (= Ahmadinejad)is calling himself our president. The vast majority of Iranian people have voted for Mousavi.

absolutely ridiculous - i am out of work, the UAW has companies being bailed out without one union member having to take a pay cut, and our president is keeping his word on a date?!? do it on your own dime or are there no good restaurants in Washington - it makes me sick

There is always a first time for everything. Just because no one has ever escaped from one of our super-prisons, does not mean it can't happen. My true feeling at this time is that he is not used to anyone bucking him and he is not going to let this go -- he wants his way and will whine and throw tantrums until they acquiesce because he does not like being embarrassed! He IS an embarrassment!

Uhhhhhh, and Obama and his henchmen are not lying to us right now, 6:27???? I don't see many successes with these idiots yet either! Tell you what -- take a few of these bad guys home with you!

The bottom line is that Cheney and the Bush administration failed. They failed to bring to justice the person who is responsible for 9/11. They lied to Congress. They lied to the American people. They spied on us, spent billions of dollars, killed thousands of young men and women, Killed Saddam and his two children. Destroyed Iraq, tortured prisioners and Osama is still out there. Roaming free to recruit and train and plan another attack. The torture did not get them information on where Bin Laden is. For all of his blustering, Dick Chney and the Bush administration failed to keep us safe. The people from 9/11 still have not been avenged and Bin Laden is still out there. Bush and Cheney left him out there. They failed!

First off, I cannot believe 12:12's argument that this idiot is doing such a good job -- just look! We are getting more money in our paychecks since Obama took office a short time ago! Hogwash!!!! What are you doing with YOUR extra TEN DOLLARS???? Get real! Talk to us at tax time, buddy! As far as the issue he discusses here about "fear mongering", a subject on which he is highly qualified, this man is speaking about allowing prisoners he deems not so dangerous into our midst -- the problem is that he doesn't KNOW which ones are the dangerous ones and he is willing to let any and all of them loose in our country! It has already been determined that there is nothing wrong in continuing to detain these psychos at Gitmo, so why even take the chance of transferring them to prisons in the U.S., even if he DOES think they are capable of handling even the most hardened criminals? And whether he likes it or not, there IS a "climate of fear" and he just enhances it!!!!!

I don't understand... it is okay to shot, bomb, blow up a terrorist but not do violence to get the truth out of him. These are bad men who would have just as easily been shot in combat but they were captured. I know prisoners of war have rights, but they were willing to risk their lives to do great harm to our country and they knew the consequences of their actions. FYI only 3 terrorists (the worst) have been water boarded since the 9/11 attack.

Obama has done a great job in a short time. I'm tired of people blaming things on him that exisited before he got into office. We're even getting more money in our paychecks because of his administration.
