Three teenagers suspected of attacking two San Jose boys who were trick-or-treating will be charged as adults.

Prosecutors announced its plan for the 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys on Thursday. An 18-year-old man has also been arrested.

The four suspects are being held in Santa Clara County Jail on two counts each of attempted murder. They are scheduled to be arraigned next week and do not yet have lawyers.

Police say the victims, ages 12 and 13, were trick-or-treating in east San Jose when the group confronted them and mistook them for members of a rival gang. Police say the victims are not gang members.

The 12-year-old is in critical condition after being shot. His friend was treated and released for stab wounds.
