Jean Cryor, commissioner of the Montgomery County Planning Board, has died. She was 70.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission made the announcement on Wednesday. Cryor died Tuesday night.

Cryor also was a member of the House of Delegates for 12 years, representing District 15 in Montgomery County.

Cryor also worked as an editor and publisher. She launched the Potomac, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Poolesville Gazette newspapers.
