The University of Virginia has been selected as one of 16 sites for the first two rounds of the 2011 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament.

The NCAA women's basketball committee said Thursday that Virginia will host first- and second-round games at John Paul Jones Arena either Saturday, March 19, and Monday, March 21, or Sunday, March 20, and Tuesday, March 22, 2011. More details will be released later.

This will be the first time John Paul Jones Arena will be the site of NCAA tournament play. The previous basketball arena, University Hall, was the site of women's tournament games in 1986-97 and 2000.
