Gas prices rise for second straight week in Ariz.

Does anyone understand the ramifications of Kelley's actions on the market. Thousands of people lost thousands of dollars trading in their, "gas guzzlers" on little cracker boxes during the $4.00+ gas crisis. Now they are driving cars they don't like and are absolutely buried in. How much gas can a person buy with the $10,000 loss they took on their Tahoe because Kelley said they should? So now with gas at $2.49 in my area and "winter approaching" Kelley decides to drop my 2002 Tahoe's value $1795.00 retail and $1525 wholesale. What are they basing this on?.. Do they really understand that they are a major contributor to the losses people are taking? Who are they working for... Consumers? Banks? Dealers?.. The answer my friends is themselves. They sell there services to Dealers and Banks and then provide values that absolutely depress the market. Dealers have inventory they can't get financed, consumers have record negative equity and Kelley is making money on all of it!!!!

With the price of the barrel of oil being below $80, we should be paying no more than $2.50 per gallon. We, as American citizens, are not stupid. We have ALREADY paid the high price for purchasing oil at $120/barrel. The gasoline we are putting in our cars today is not yet using the $120/barrel oil. Oil companies are RIPPING US OFF. We fully understand that we will never see gas below $2.00 - that is understandable, but, come on! Oil companies have already made their money. Louisiana prices $2.98 - $3.15 - - Some Chevron stations still have the price at $3.35. Give us a break! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

I do not believe the housing market is the real reason our economy is in bad shape. Fixing the credit situation is just placing America back in the shape it was in before...Giving more people credit to just pay back later, when more than likely the reason they are using credit to begin with is due to a lack of money. Why not focus on high gasoline and food prices???

Here is a small piece of news for you. In the past few weeks, the average price per barrel (of crude oil) has dropped dramtically. It is now 121.41 a barrel. This is about a 20.00 price drop from a few months ago and about 3.00 from yesterday. You think we would see this at the pumps but guess what. Thats right, we are not going to see more than a few cents drop in prices at the pump. When gas at the moment should be about 3.50 we are still paying 3.80-4.00 a gallon. Oh thank you congress, gas stations, oil companies for screwing us. When I'm wondering if I am gonna have the money to fill up the one family vehicle and buy my baby some milk I know personally who to thank. You wanna know what their reasoning behind keeping their prices through the roof are...they said they needed to make money too. They were not making enough money off of selling gas. If congress wants to help they can start by stoping price gouging.

It would be good to see gas prices in the $2-00 range in Illinois. The cheapest here so far is $3.79 per gallon. I know everyone says gas prices have to go up but really all the high gas prices are going to make it so no-one can buy gas. Then where is the money going to come from. Why not use the oil we have instead of paying the high price we are paying. Come on it does not have to be that high in price. Everyone wants to make money, needs to make money. Why can't the rich people who have money be happy with what they have and let the rest of us make a living for our families also?

All of this complaining about gas prices is getting us nothing, we as a country need to reduce the amount of oil we use. Instead of asking our leaders to turn off their a/c or for the police to stop taking cars home, we should be asking them to expand public transportation, local community groups could set car pooling sites for the residents that don't live near public transportation. They could set up tax incentives for people who carpool or use public transportation instead of using their own vehicles. We as a nation do not want to be inconvenienced by using public transportation or maybe we are too proud to ride the bus. We would rather complain. There are not any easy solutions to this problem, we are going to have to change our habits. Drilling for more oil is not a solution, it is a band-aid.

I don't know where you heard marked police cars around every corner aren't a deterrent to crime, but whoever told you that is a moron. I know when I lived in AACO two of my neighbors were AACO police and had marked take home cars. You think in the 5 years I lived there I ever had a problem? Nope. It is an expense to the taxpayer that has been around for years and as far as the past County Executives and taxpayers and voters are concerned, apparently the gain to public order and safety is worth the price.

One thing that everyone needs to think of...if you have a new SUV or Truck and you try to sell it or trade it, you will loose your butt! Keep an eye on Howard County Sheriff James Fitzgerald and his staff rotating vehicles. It would not surprise me if Fitzgerald is rotating vehicles so he can still take his weekly jaunts to Ocean City to visit his wife at "her house" on the tax payers dime. By rotating the vehicles he is able to skew the mileage statistics from the county.

My dodge used to take $30.00 to fill now it take close to $70.00 and it is a Small SUV. Everyone is complaining about oil prices. Has anyone thought of replacing the 100 year old gasoline engine with nitrogen and electric? with another engine to drive our vehicles, we would not need any gasoline. The arabs could then use their oil to "lubricate" their camels.

They REFUSE to allow the building of more refineries, which are needed to aid in the supply of Gasoline. They REFUSE to allow the construction of more Nuclear Power Plants by our Electrical companies. Congress should scrap all these specialized blends of gasoline for different regions of the country, that change according to the season (IE: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). They are supplementing the Corn industry for use in Ethenol. This is not smart. This Ethenol in the Gasoline reduces fuel economy in your internal combustion engines. BUT it makes Congress FEEL good.

FOREIGN WARS OR DOMESTIC OIL If the US Government spent a trillion dollars over 8 years on domestic oil production from known reserves in the Gulf of Mexico, the Continental Shelf and coal gasification instead of War in Iraq gas would be $2 a gallon or less. America could quit sending billions to countries that sponsor terrorism. And reducing our trade imbalance keeps jobs in America. Every billion of trade deficit costs 13,000 jobs. $400 billion for oil last year: do the math. America has 1/4th the coal on planet earth. South Africa is producing 300,000 barrels of gas and diesel a day from coal. And synthetic fuel from coal is cleaner burning than gas. And it can be produced cheaper than from $100+ a barrel crude oil. Harness your anger at the pump. Call you're US Senators and demand domestic production in this decade. Raise your voice or the oil companies and politicians will assume you are ready to pay even more.

These soaring gas prices are outragous i am furious on how this can go on any longer something should be done sooner or later or it will be to expensive for people to even go to work and back, schools will have to shorten the school week to save gas for thier Diesel fueld buses.

Hell here in Illinois the gas is $4.01 bucks gallon, I think the dam goverment wants the working person to stay broke.I am so sick of the gas going up and food has almost doubled. What are we all going to do. We have to go to work, therefore we have to buy gas, but I will not be going on any vacations or anything else extra. I work at a vetrans hospital and live 10 miles away and it is costong me 40 dollars a week to go to work apose to half that last year. Of course my paycheck has not increased. i drive diesel truck and i hate it when people say go buy something with better milage. what they dont understand is every penny goes in the tank there is no money to buy anouther car. we cant sell the truck we need it becuse we have horses. we cant buy food becuse our money is gone to gas and rent. i dont know what we will do when the kids are out of school and we have to find luches and breakfast for them. its to the point where we eill have to haul road kill thats still warm for food becuse theres just no money left for food. over a 1/3rd of our pay goes to gas. theres no local jobs and we have no choice but to drive 60miles per day to work and back. and dont say sell the horses becuse they arent worth anything since the slaughter plants closed down and hay has tripled in price. all you can do is set them loose or watch them slowly starve to death.i will keep mine alive as long as i can

I'm a solder on active duty who has to spend my own money on gas to attend my medical appointment's in which I'm not re-imbursed if not over fifty miles. The problem is that just like every one else we're being forced to pay for all the extra's of life with out having our pay making up the difference, which mean's less income to take home for our familie's. So why is our government allowing the little man to suffer more and the big oil companies too get away with it. Thier getting record profit's and tax credit's from our government. So here's my proposal why can't the big oil companies cut their profit's for these credit's and pass the savings on to the consumer. The consumer is the one whom is suffering more having to decide whether to eat or gas up the car. Common big oil how about a little help for the little man?

Yes, I will agree these high gas prices are only the beginning of the worse that is yet to come. If this country was smart it would ignore the environmentalist and begin drilling in places such as Alaska, The Gulf Coast and Colorado. That would greatly reduce our dependence on foreign support for oil and greatly reduce our gas prices. But for all those who commented on this article, it is Mr. Danner's choice to drive the SUV just like with any other SUV driver it is their choice to drive such a vehicle and it is also their right to vent about the outrageously high gas prices.
