U.S. marshals are looking for a Waldorf man who authorities say fatally shot one person and wounded another outside the Newburg Elks Lodge in Charles County.

Terrell L. Thompson, 36, is accused of killing Michael L. Beverly, 33, also of Waldorf, and injuring a 24-year-old Newburg man on June 28. Beverly had been trying to break up a fistfight between Thompson and the 24-year-old when Thompson pulled out a gun, Charles County sheriff's deputies said. Authorities believe Thompson fled in a blue four-door sedan.

Thompson is wanted on second-degree murder charges. He has convictions for carrying a handgun, possessing bulletproof armor and distributing narcotics, and had recently been released from state prison, authorities said. He's considered armed and dangerous.

"He's out there and running, and we need help," said Matt Burke, supervisory inspector with the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Thompson wore long dreadlocks but he may have shaved his head, Burke said. He is listed at 6 feet 3 inches, 220 pounds. He has been known to frequent Charles County, Prince George's County and Washington.

Anyone with information on Thompson's whereabouts can call the U.S. Marshals Service at 301-489-1717 or 800-336-0102. Law enforcement authorities are offering a reward for information leading to Lee's arrest.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, run by the U.S. Marshals Service, is composed of 28 federal, state and local agencies from Baltimore to Norfolk, Va. The unit has captured 17,000 wanted fugitives since its creation in 2004.
