Man pleads guilty in case of posing as FBI agent

A 25-year-old D.C. man pleaded guilty Friday to impersonating an FBI agent in a scheme to have sex with a prostitute. Edwin G. Johnson faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison, according to federal prosecutors in Maryland. On April 26, Johnson picked up a prostitute and after negotiating over the price of a sexual act he identified himself as a federal agent working undercover. After Johnson told the prostitute he would not arrest her and he wanted to help her, she performed a sex act on him. – Scott McCabe

MS-13 gang member convicted in murder

A member of the MS-13 gang was convicted Friday of racketeering conspiracy, murder conspiracy and murder. Israel Ernesto Palacios, 31, of Silver Spring, was part of a conspiracy to kill a female member, Nancy Diaz, of the Langley Park clique of the MS-13 gang after rumors swirled that Diaz was associating with a rival gang, prosecutors said. According to testimony at the four-week federal trial, two MS-13 members shot and killed Diaz and fatally shot and stabbed another female at a cemetery in Adelphi. – Scott McCabe

Motorcycle club leader sentenced for guns

The president of the Pagan Motorcycle Club in Maryland was sentenced to three years in prison for being a felon in possession of a cache of guns, according to federal prosecutors in Maryland. Maryland State troopers and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents found 19 rifles, handguns, shotguns and numerous rounds of ammunition in the Hagerstown home of motorcycle club leader Jay Carl Wagner, 67, in 2007. – Scott McCabe

Wheaton man charged in restaurant burglary

A 46-year-old Wheaton man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly burglarizing La Frontera restaurant in Silver Spring, Montgomery County police said. Michael Eckbrecht has been charged with second-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into La Frontera and taking an undisclosed amount of cash along with other property, police said. – Freeman Klopott

Manassas man charged with indecent exposure

A Manassas man was arrested Friday for allegedly exposing himself and “performing another act,” Prince William County police said. Andrew W. Oravetz, 52, was charged with indecent exposure. He allegedly approached a 50-year-old Manassas woman in her yard, exposed himself and performed another act. He is being held without bail. – Freeman Klopott
