A Virginia cleaning lady was arrested Thursday for allegedly ripping off her clients of several years, making off with high-priced jewelry and clothing valued at more than $62,000, Fairfax County police said.

Mirian Martinez, 47, of Alexandria, has been charged with grand larceny and selling stolen property after a 51-year-old Alexandria-area woman reported that Martinez, her longtime cleaning lady, had stolen jewelry from her home, police said.

Some of that jewelry was found by police at an Arlington pawn shop. As the investigation continued, police learned that two more of Martinez’s clients, a 51-year-old Fairfax woman and a 38-year-old Fairfax Station woman, also reported missing jewelry. Martinez worked under the company name Mirian Cleaning Services, and police believe other clients also may have been victims.
