Star of the day: Mark Clation, receiver. The fourth-year receiver wore a sling last week ago after spraining his right shoulder. But Sunday, Clayton was back on the field, where he made several receptions.

Clayton also worked out on kick returns and participated in a drill where he ran with a football with a large bungee cord wrapped around it. The cord was tied to the goal post, and the drill was to prevent him losing control of the ball.

PLAY OF THE DAY: David Pittman

The cornerback needs to play well during training camp to prevent Fabian Washington, Corey Ivy and Frank Walker from taking his playing time. Pittman missed the early part of training camp with a foot injury, but has bounced back well, including Sunday when he intercepted quarterback Kyle Boller and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown during 7-on-7 drills.

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN

The Ravens have had their fair share of injuries at running back, and they can’t afford to lose star rookie Ray Rice. One fan may have prevented another injury as he caught Rice as he went out of bounds and helped him back onto the field. After the play, Ravens secondary coach Chuck Pagano said, “Sign that fan up. Get him a shirt and a hat.”

QUARTERBACK BATTLE

Troy Smith appeared sharp with most of his throws, but he also flirted with danger as the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner nearly had passes picked off by safeties Dawan Landry, Haruki Nakamura and Jim Leonhard. Boller has been the most consistent during training camp, but his interception to Martin was the worst throw of the day. Rookie Joe Flacco did a nice job setting up his play-action passes throughout practice, but overthrew his intended targets several times.

  • Directions: From I-695, take Exit 19 onto I-795 North. Follow signs to Westminster via Route 140 West to Route 31. At blinking light, turn left onto Route 31. At first traffic light, turn left onto Main Street. Proceed up hill and the entrance to the Ravens? visitor parking is on the left.
  • Parking: Visitors are encouraged to park at McDaniel College's Bair Stadium, which is adjacent to Main Street.
  • Autograph seekers alert: The Ravens make most of their players accessible for autographs after each practice, with fans asked to lineup next to the fences and ropes surrounding the field. Kids 14 years and younger can get prime spots behind the end zone closest to the field house. Players are more likely to sign autographs for kids who are polite and bring a pen.
