Joe Flacco

The rookie quarterback is considered a prototypical drop-back quarterback. But the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder has shown at times he can be quick on his feet, as he avoided the rush and sprinted for a 20-yard gain.

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN

You can take the man out of the special teams coach but you can’t take the special teams coach out of the man. Ravens coach John Harbaugh proved that as the long-time special teams coordinator got involved in kickoff drills toward the end of practice. He ran down field before pulling up before reaching rookie offensive tackle Oniel Cousins.

QUARTERBACK BATTLE

Smith was inconsistent, including throwing an interception early on to linebacker Robert McCune. But he came back with some solid completions, including one in the end zone to rookie wide receiver Justin Harper and a long completion to tight end Adam Bergen. Boller was steady, including early in practice when he threw several completions to receiver Yamon Figurs. Flacco appeared to have the least time with the starters and had trouble finding a rhythm with his throws.
