Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Graffiti bandits: At 8:30 p.m. July 20, an off-duty police officer observed two suspects with numerous spray cans board a Muni vehicle at Ninth Avenue and Judah Street. He then observed the suspects commit a graffiti offense on the windows of the vehicle. Officers arrested the suspects, who were in possession of spray cans and other evidence. The suspects were cited and released to their parents.

Gun retrievals: At 11:30 p.m. July 17, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic infractions committed at Sacramento and Mason streets. The vehicle fled and after a chase, all suspects “bailed out” at O’Farrell and Laguna streets. One gun was found thrown down at the scene. An officer retrieved one gun from the pants pocket of one of the two suspects in custody. One suspect said he was from Oakland while the other gave no local address.

Tenderloin

Tenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets

Buy-bust: On July 16, plainclothes officers conducted a mini “buy-bust” operation. The undercover officer was approached by a man who led the officer to another man who was selling Vicodin. The officer made the “buy” and gave the “bust” signal, at which time the arrest team arrived and arrested both men.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Purse snatch avoided: At 8:20 p.m. July 15, a woman was walking on the 3500 block of Geary Boulevard. A suspect was walking towards her and appeared to be talking to himself. He passed her, and the victim walked north on Second Avenue when someone came up from behind her and grabbed her purse. The victim yelled and held onto her purse. She saw it was the same man she had passed earlier. She seemed to startle the suspect when she yelled as he let go of her purse and ran off.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Hit with pipe: At 9:30 a.m. July 19, officers responded to Hudson Avenue and Cashmere Street regarding a fight with a knife. The victim stated that she had been in an ongoing argument with another woman regarding her baby’s father. The argument resulted in the suspect hitting her over the head with a pipe, causing her to bleed. Officers located the suspect and placed her under arrest.
