STAR OF THE DAY

The rookie free agent kicker likely isn’t going to beat veteran Matt Stover for the starting job, but he is doing enough to help him land a job on antoher team. The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder went 4-for-4 on field goal attempts, splitting the uprights from 20, 30, 41 and 51 yards on Tuesday.

PLAY OF THE DAY

Yamon Figurs

He was the fastest player to come out of the draft last year. But questions regarding his hands relegated him to mainly playing as a return specialist for the Ravens last year. This might change this season, as he has seen more time as a wide receiver during training camp. He also came through with a 10-yard touchdown reception on a pass from quarterback Troy Smith with cornerback Corey Ivy defending him.

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN

Adam Terry

The offensive tackle made many of the fans watching training camp wish Jonathan Ogden decided to play one more season. The 6-foot-8, 330-pounder fell to the ground after tripping over running back Ray Rice during Tuesday’s morning practice. Terry screamed in pain while grabbing his left leg, the same one in which he had ankle surgery on in the offseason. Terry is the second offensive tackle to get injured in four days, as Jared Gaither sprained his ankle on Saturday. Terry, who spent the rest of the day on crutches, had moved from right tackle to left tackle following Gaither’s injury.

QUARTERBACK BATTLE

Smith has shown steady improvement this week. His highlights included a 40-yard completion to wide receiver Derrick Mason in 9-on-9 drills and a 10-yard touchdown pass to Figurs. Rookie Joe Flacco struggled early as linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo intercepted his first pass. But Flacco rebounded with completions to rookie wideout Marcus Smith. Kyle Boller was steady as he developed a rapport with running back Ray Rice.
