Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Drug possession: At 7:30 p.m. July 17, officers arrested a 44-year-old male at Vallejo and Taylor streets for possession of crack cocaine and acting erratically. The suspect is known to hang out at Coolbrith Park.

Richmond

Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Theft: At 2 a.m. July 12, a woman was standing at the corner of Geary Boulevard and Blake Street. A car stopped in front of her and a passenger exited and told the victim to give him her purse. As the victim started running, the suspect chased her, grabbing her purse from behind. The suspect also approached a witness, told him to “shut up” and punched him in the face. The suspect threw the victim’s purse to the ground, got back in the car and fled. The witness gave the victim her purse, and she discovered her wallet was missing.

Southern

South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero

Vandalism: At 6:25 p.m. July 15, officers were dispatched to a business on the 100 block of Eighth Street regarding a subject who had just smashed the large storefront window. An employee heard the breaking glass and rushed outside and saw the subject standing in front of the store. The officers located the subject a short distance away. The employee estimated the damage at about $6,000.

Bayview

Bayview, Hunters Point

Gun recovered: At 11:50 a.m. July 20, officers responded to the area of Westbrook Court and Hudson Avenue regarding a suspect with a gun. A victim said he was working on his car when two unknown suspects walked up to him. One pointed a silver gun at the victim, who ducked down while running away. The victim returned to his car several minutes later and met with police, who located one suspect nearby and the other hiding in the backyard of a private residence. The weapon, a stolen firearm from San Jose, was recovered a couple of feet away.

Taraval

Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Trespassing: At 1:06 p.m. July 20, officers spotted a man attempting to conceal himself in a vehicle on the 1000 block of Capitol Avenue, and identified him as someone on probation for selling drugs. Suddenly, the person ran away into an open garage, up some stairs and was found sitting on a toilet by the pursuing officers. The officers cited the resident of Daly City for interfering with a police officer and trespassing.
