Baltimore County (Map, News) - A water-main break on East Joppa Road earlier today is snarling traffic and making travel difficult.
Baltimore County officials say that more than 400 feet of East Joppa Road west of Belair Road were damaged when the water main broke.
Two lanes of the five-lane road are impassable, according to a county news release.
The Baltimore City Department of Public Works is working to repair the 12-inch water line that undermined the road, and work is expected to continue into the evening hours.
When the line is repaired, Baltimore County utility and highway crews will begin filling the road. It will be resurfaced on Monday, the county said.
