SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - The Tony Award winner co-wrote the score to the Broadway hit “The Drowsy Chaperone,” playing at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre through Aug. 17.
Where did you get your love of theater? Mostly from my parents’ record collection; they had everything: “My Fair Lady,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Damn Yankees,” "Fiddler on the Roof.”
How did you start out in theater? I originally was in a Toronto group that did sketch comedy in the 1990s.
What’s the origin of “The Drowsy Chaperone”? I organized a bachelor party that was half-party and half-show. We came up with the idea of a 1920s musical with no narrative set in a seedy nightclub.
Have you been to San Francisco — what are your impressions? I haven’t been here before. I only know that Mark Twain quote about how cold it is in summer. I’m excited to wear a coat that I bought last year when I went shopping with Jo Anne Worley.
What is it like winning a Tony Award? It’s great. Right after we won, I was crossing the street and I saw the cast of the show getting on a bus, and jumping up and down and waving. That felt amazing.
What are you working on now? Greg Morrison [who co-wrote “The Drowsy Chaperone” score] and I have been in L.A. working with Blake Edwards on a show.

Mr. Reiskin, While I agree that street cleaning does little good I believe its for a differnt reason other than saving tax payer money. Julian Ave remains filthy on a regular basis-full or urine, syringes and needles. Your right, save tax payer dollars hopefully for something more productive like building a DPW substation right on julian at 15th. That wont solve it either but I suspect the money is going to go to something as misguided as this. When Julian Ave no longer smells like the filth and stench it has for the last ten years than I wont be embarrassed to have friends and relatives over. Be proud of your accomplishments and add this one to your resume.

Love the music from the new Jon Peter Lewis album, "Break the Silence!" I'm driving about 6 hours to get to San Francisco to see his show this weekend (sad for me, it's the closest he's been to the northwest). I've seen him perform before, after his freshman album release...and he rocks! It'll totally be worth the drive :D

Ack! Examiner, you asked the forbidden question! What’s next for Wikia and the Wikimedia Foundation? Those two entities are NEVER to be uttered in the same sentence within earshot of Jimmy Wales! For the Captain to even give an interview , contradicts what residents hda feared all along. Why when this woman told what she knew was killed and her murder remains unsolved.? MPD need to really do more than only show up after fact. They need to do more policing and stop making excuses for how laxed they are in solving crimes. They have a protocol that does not help the prosecutors when they do get case. So many families in the District have lost loved ones and have been harassed by MPD that they don't even get the respect of serving and protecting. Read the Inspector General 2007 report of how unprofessional these detectives are. You can read a newspaper and stare into the the tv screen, but families in DC are sick and tired of the murders and tired of being accused of MPD blunders and mishaps...
