The first fatal shooting occurred about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 2400 block of Ninth Street NW. A man and woman were sitting in a parked BMW sedan when a group of men approached them, said D.C. Police Officer Joshua Aldiva. When one of the men brandished a handgun, the driver of the BMW tried to speed away. The gunman fired several rounds at the vehicle.
The bullet struck the woman in the chest, and the man drove her to nearby Howard University Hospital. She was pronounced dead about an hour later. She was identified as Barbara A. Carl, 47, of Falls Church. The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time because he is considered a witness, police said.
Police had not made any arrests Wednesday afternoon, Aldiva said.
About an hour later, shortly after midnight, police found a second shooting victim on the 1500 block of F Street NE. Bystanders flagged down officers patrolling the Hilleast neighborhood and told them that a man was lying in the street. Police found 19-year-old Robert Mallory, of the 1300 block of Talbert Street SE, suffering multiple gunshots to the body.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services officials were called to the scene, where they started CPR and transported the teenager to an area hospital. Mallory was pronounced dead shortly before 1 a.m.
Police do not believe the shootings are related.

The previous things were hidden by O'Malley. Not sure if the new lady has the same clout. The reduction in murders isn't so much attributed to better police relations or protection but rather a Darwin approach -- survival of the fittest. Wait until the next generation grows up and/or others are released from jail.
End of the day, people can no longer call George Bush a chickenhawk. He's sending his daughter to live in the most dangerous place in America; Harm City.
