Rock Creek roads: The National Park Service has some work planned this week in and around Rock Creek Park — know before you go and don’t let it slow you down.

Here’s what drivers can expect:

Maintenance workers will repair the road surface on Piney Branch Parkway on Tuesday. The parkway will be closed from Beach Drive to Arkansas Avenue Northwest from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Extra space is needed for equipment and personnel to work safely.

Beach Drive is also having some work done. The road will be closed Wednesday from Wise Road to Sherrill Drive Northwest. That work takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Beach Drive between Bingham Drive and Joyce Road Northwest will be closed next Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WILSON BRIDGE: Drivers have been dealing with some overnight lane closures and reductions at the Wilson Bridge recently, and more delays are expected this week. Starting at 9:00 p.m. Monday and ending no later than 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, the Inner Loop of the Beltway will be reduced from three lanes to one just west of MD 210 to the Wilson Bridge.

HOT LANES: The Virginia Department of Transportation is getting its plans together for the Interstate 95/Interstate 395 High-Occupancy Toll Lanes Project. Road crews will shut down the left lane of I-395 north, just after Route 7 (King Street), every day this week to conduct tests on the highway. That work takes place from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.

BASTILLE DAY: Drivers should also pay attention to a festival that’s taking place this week. The Liberty Festival Bastille Day is happening on the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest.

Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest will be closed Monday between 12th and 13th streets from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Delays are expected.
