After showing her work in the Italian and American embassies in Kuwait, Ann Eid, an international photographer with Maryland roots, brings her emotive images to the Artists’ Gallery exhibit “Women on the Edge” in Columbia. Her works fuse film, paper and paint. Accompanying the works will be Baltimore native Kathleen Schuman’s alluring paintings.

“For this show, I’ve used my studio as the subject, interpreting the changing light as it comes through the windows and the pigeons that come to observe me from the window ledge,” Schuman says in a statement. “They keep me focused on my work. I enjoyed the process of making texture with gesso and applying layer after layer of paint to tell the story of this space.”

“Women on the Edge” will be on display 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday through July 25. Meet the artists from 6 to 8 p.m. July 11 at the Artists’ Gallery, located at 10227 Wincopin Circle. Click here for details, or call 410-740-8249.
