Tiger mauling victim’s family to file lawsuit

Why doesn't Souza's family sue the two Dhaliwal Brothers? You know that they have a history of trouble, and look what happened to the Souza's son. The Dhaliwal Brothers are responsible in a way for the incident. I feel sorry for Souza Family but not for the Dhaliwals.

well....lets do a drug test of all employees at the zoo...clearly these boys are idiots but even idiot's shall be safe in a controlled enviorment.But there is no excuse for the idiocracy of the S.F zoo lack of detail on there facility and regulations of proper equipment hieght size ect .

So Souza, who was underage, had alcohol and pot in his system on that fateful day at the zoo, and was standing on the railing of the tigers' cage. And we're supposed to feel sorry for the sad fate to which he came? He sounds like a complete nimrod whose death was entirely the result of his own stupidity. His friends are no better - both the Dhaliwal brothers (one of them is facing felony shoplifting charges) have had numerous run-ins with the law. They're also imbeciles, and I don't feel an iota of sympathy for any of them.

No one and I mean no one will really ever know what happened, other than the two brothers who seem to be more interested in a nice pay day than anything else. Unfortunate for Sousa. Tragic indeed for Taty - a victim for being voiceless, bred over many generations for survival to do what was only natural, instinctual for her to do, and then to be incarcerated, then tuanted to the end. Truly tragic...and what appears to be montrous behavior by the brothers. It's times like this that make me want to make a contribution to places like Nature Conservancy of Calif which protects habitat.

I am very sorry for what happen to this young man but why in the hell would you get drunk and go to the zoo looking for trouble they knew what they were doing and it is too bad somebody had to die not just the young man but also a animal who did would any animal would do if provoked i dont think they deserve a penny sometimes we have to learn that we are responsible for our own actions.

Actually, if 13yr olds taunting monkeys caused ear-biting, then the real circus would not be happening. This 'circus' is happening because of animals being taunted. The victims were also criminals, you should have to agree.

I have to say that the spin on incrimintating these VICTIMS is more atrocious than the fact that a tiger was born and died in captivity. The taunting allegations are not signifigcant. I've seen 13 year olds taunt monkeys and if one of them were to have escaped and chewed an ear off, this circus wouldn't be happening. It is cruel to breed animals in captivity. I think the lesson to be learned is you can't predict nature. She may bite, even if it's leaping bounds over what mankind thought possible.

Criminal charges are in order to the SF Zoo administrators. The tiger should not have been able to get out of its cage for whatever reason. This includes the vulgar behavior which also needs to be reprimanded.

What an utter tragedy. Tatiana was truly a beautiful and majestic cat. Those punks will inevitably have a day of reconing coming one way or another. They may have been able to out-run that tiger until help arrived, but there's really no way to out run Karma is there?

Don't trust the zoo!! The facility is inadequate to contain the animals, and zoo security is incapable of monitoring rowdy guests and detecting escaped animals. Go there at your own risk and understand that anything that happens to you and your kiddies is like to be YOUR fault.

Not only should the city file manslaughter charges against the Dhaliwal brothers but also file charges for contributing to the delignquency of a minor and the cost to the city expended for medical and police time. The Sousa family should sue them for causing the death of their son and the San Francisco Zoological Society should also sue them for the losses incurred. The responding cops shot the srong animal. It's pretty evident to even liberal san franciscans that the real dangerous animals in this case walk on two legs.

First the brothers wouldn't cooperate with police, in fact they wouldn't identify their dead friend. Then they say they weren't taunting it, now they say they were? They are looking for a big payout and they should receive nothing. What happened to parents teaching their children that they are responsible for their actions and must take the consequences of those actions? I think we should be more afraid of them instead of animals at the zoo. These idiots are the one's that should be put in a cage. Who will their next victim be?

The paramedics heard the brothers saying, "don't tell them what we did." So do you believe that all they did was stand on the railing and scream???? NO! They did a whole lot more than that. And I don't believe the tiger "just jumped out of the bushes from no where" either. The brothers must have at least slung rocks to get the tiger that upset. Now all the animals may lose their homes. The brothers won't stop lying until they hurt ALL the animals.

The zoo has done their part as best as they can. The "recommended height" of the wall is not "required height" . And I am sure the zoo is safe for years for a reason: they do good job. The brothers are really shameful and disgusting. And their family hire such a famous lawyer because they know it's gonna be a tough case unless they spent money on it. Money can't buy life back. Dennis Herrara and the City Attorney's office are excellent. They will absolve the City and the citizens from having to pay for the behavior of three degenerates. These three represent everything that is wrong with society and mankind - it's unfortunate a rare tiger had to die for this.

This guy Singer is just a paid liar for the zoo. The investigation is not turning towards the Dhaliwal brothers at all. The zoo, the city and Mr. Mouthpiece Singer are all covering for Mollinedo. Mollinedo is as guilty for Carlos Sousa's death as a speeding driver is for the death of someone he kills by way of vehicular homicide. Mollinedo deserves jail time for operating an unsafe zoo. The zoo and the city attorney continue to stir up public sentiment with unsubstantiated claims against the brothers and Carlos Sousa. The city attorney has no evidence that points to anything except multiple failures by the zoo and its administration with respect to their responsibilities to protect the public. And what exactly does it take to provoke a wild tiger to attack a human being? For that answer, just ask the former zoo employee who had her arm partially torn off by the same animal, as she was feeding it! And what does the zoo and director Mollinedo have to say about that case? Wake up Bay Area half-wits, the same as happened to Sousa and the brothers could happen to you at that zoo. The zoo is the problem!

Also, the enclosure is clearly deficient. From rocks at edge of moat, a tiger can leap and grab overhanging tree branches, or claw its way up the cracks in the concrete wall. The tiger tasted human blood before when it attacked a zoo keeper Dec 22, 2006, nearly resulting in an arm amputation. Should have been put down or sent to a sanctuary at that time, a bad seed.

Failure by the zoo to immediately admit SFPD and shoot to kill suggests a weighing of life of tiger vs lives of humans. If found to be true, for shame. Any embedded ALF / similar types at zoo must be removed and if need be, prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Yes, zoo animals lives are important but not as important as humans lives.
