WASHINGTON (Map, News) - Welcome back to the seventh week of our On-the-Go series! I hope you’ve been standing tall and embodying mountain-like qualities thanks to last week’s focus on the must-have staple yoga pose: mountain. This week’s dose is a reminder to continue standing tall by doing something regularly that takes you out of your comfort zone. Treading unknown territory offers new experiences and allows you to keep growing. Without taking risks, life becomes overly comfortable, and we can become complacent.

To ensure life feels fresh, explore the following risks — some large, some small — and watch your connection to happiness grow: launch a Web site, start a business, write a novel, wear red lipstick, plant an herb garden, drink blueberry green tea, ask for a raise, increase your consulting rate, meditate for five minutes each day, adopt a dog from the Humane Society, write an apology note, design a dress, wear a flower in your hair, adorn yourself with henna, add a few pink streaks to your hair, read a mystery novel, start running, go car camping, try a new style of yoga, take a beading class, sew a scarf and tie it to your handbag, write with a turquoise pen, ask for a new project at work, bake a soufflé, bring your colleague a “thank you for being you” gift, don faux snakeskin heels, make a healthy protein shake for breakfast, read a classic, take a bubble bath, volunteer at a nearby assisted living center.
