Transit agencies to run on holiday schedule

Bay Area (Map, News) - Local transit agencies will offer service during today’s Memorial Day holiday, but riders should be aware that only abbreviated schedules will be available.

BART will operate on a Sunday schedule, with service running from 8 a.m. to midnight. Parking at all stations will be free today.

Caltrain will also run on a Sunday schedule, with 28 trains operating hourly between San Francisco and San Jose’s Diridon station. Normally on weekdays’ there are 98 trains operating more frequently and as far south as Gilroy.

In addition, Muni will operate a Sunday schedule, with weekday, weekday/Saturday and school-day only lines shut down. Muni Metro will begin service at 8 a.m. instead of the normal weekday start time of 5 a.m.

Golden Gate Transit buses and ferries will run on an abbreviated weekend schedule, as well.
