D.C. Police Blotter

It is often the ones that escape alcohol and drug charges that are doing or go on to do the heavier crimes. They have learned early on that it is ok. My ex husband was driving with our young children on two separate occassions. The police took them all home without a report. Thank God it is him that is dead (alcohol) and not the children. However, the police have taught my children that it is ok to drink, drive and get in an accident ... no reports.

Attn: Bill Myers Is it possible to provide some more information about this case? The man has been "formally charged" by who? The feds? Which court? State? local? Such an important announcement and you left out all the pertinent facts that will be useful to former patients.

Drug dealing is very small and minor when you think of the other things that are happening in the neighborhoods. Auto thefts, kidnappings of children and elderly, gasoline theft, assults, murders, arsons, shootings, internet fraud and a host of other big and serious crimes are still on the rise everywhere and the police are having a problem dealing with the crimes. Within the last two weeks, some of our law enforcement have become victims of crime. That is the sad truth as we know it today.

I had a phone conversation with Maj. Dianne Groomes of the MPD and she told me that the "crips, bloods and other gangs are going to wage war on the metro stations, schools, shopping centers and eventually attack the elderly in retirement homes to get at the law enforcement" and she said that more graffitti is going to be on walls in metro stations and other places too. I am afraid of taking my grandchildren to any place on the D.C. streets because some hood may try to steal gasoline from my tank or put a rag in my exhaust pipe to give me carbon monoxide poisoning or to kidnap my granddaughter when I am in the mens room. That is how dangerous the area is. Speaking from an attorney's perspective, I can tell you better.

"A 53-year-old Springfield man has been formally charged with pretending to be a psychiatrist and writing hundreds of potent prescriptions" This could have been stopped two years ago I resportted this nman to VA Lisc and AMA but they took no action. He was also reported to Fairfax County because he is a landlord of overcroweded properties and rented a property with a gas leak that almost killed a teneant, a young teacher. The County took no action It is dangerous to live in Virginia

A 14-year old is charged with arson, which risked lives and caused half a million in damages. But his name is not published. Is that because the little darlin' is a minor? Time to change the law, folks. These are criminals, not "juveniles".

Way to go shop keeper, you just issued justice, in the form of hot lead, to a criminal who I will bet has been arrested 50 times. He is probably responsible for hundreds of hold ups and assaults in that area. Now we the tax payers will have to pay his medical bills and such, hell who are we kidding we the taxpayer have been paying for this guy his whole life. Andrew is a murderer! You might as well call him a serial killer! This is his second time killing a person while drinking and driving, within just a few years. It is ridiculous that he was able to do this again. He is a piece of crap that deserves to be in prison forever because obviously he felt no remorse for what he had done to that poor girl a few years ago. That situation should have made him never touch another drop of alcohol again and look what happens. I feel so horrible for Brian's family and friends. Here they are thinking that they are about to celebrate a new beginning in their child's life but then it gets cut short by a selfish, thoughtless, scum of the earth. This is not just on Andrew's head; it is also on the people who let him get his license back and the people who drank with him and knew about his past. I am so disgusted by this senseless and preventable murder of this child. All Andrew had to do was not drink or not drive, THAT SIMPLE!

Its a shame. You talk to your kids about drinking and driving etc. Here,2 very responsible teenagers get into an accident at the fault of a drunk adult.DISGUSTING.The unbearable pain that this family has to deal with...at what should be the most happiest time-after graduating...is just very immensly sad. Brian Wilson was truly an incredible person. He could make anyone smile and was one of those people you just felt luck to know. He had just graduated and was taken far too early in his life. A person this special would and did make a huge impact on the world. If there were more people like him, our world would be an incredible place. Havre de Grace highschool will never ever forget this man. We'll never forget his laugh, his smile, his zest for life, or his amazing ability to love life and the people in it even in the worst of times. I never really knew Brian but i knew he was a great guy...what i dont understand is how anyone could ALLOW that man that had hit them to drive. It doesnt say here but he had been charged for killin someone else before.....its not fair to have someone great like Brian to go like that. We're very lucky to still have Nate....Brian will be missed very much at HdG High and will always be remembered.

Cops don't keep people safe. Get a gun and keep it handy. Only liberal fools would suggest that citizens disarm in the face of rising crime in DC, Baltimore, and most other urban areas. Also, it might help is cops stop acting like Jackbooted skin heads and start acting respectfully toward citizens. Yes, I said CITIZENS! If you are not legal, get the hell out. Cops can be effective when they protect illegals. Fewer cops are better.

Its amazing people can't avoid crime around this area. It takes a little sense. Don't go to DC or any busy area past 7. And if you do go for a night on the town make sure its with someone else.

According to several sources working with the local police, criminals will prey on "soft spots" such as crime scenes, domestic issues and the bad economy by using them for their campaign to commit crimes. Gas station robberies, fights in shopping centers from cutting in lines and making threats to schools and metro stations. Those are classic examples of what is to come in the coming months.

I heard about something that took place in baltimore aound the 25th (it was a Friday) where two teenagers were abducted and beaten for hours. Why have I not seen/heard anything about this in the paper?

Murders outwit those paid to arrest,convict,and put away, those who take lives of other human beings. In the past dozen years, people who murder people often are not caught, our neighborhoods are growing murders. Killers, kill and get away with it, our police have more computers,cars,sedways,two way radio's,and other means they did not have years ago, but the murder rate grows. Until our law enforcers prove they can outwit the murderer,s mind, this madness in our neighborhoods will continue.

It would have been nice if the Examiner would have covered the Shop With A Cop program held by the North Baltimore County Optimist Clubs in conjunction with the Baltimore County Police Dept. on Sat Dec 22nd. They took 103 under priviledge children shopping at Wal-Mart and then to Outback for breakfast. The Baltimore County police dept. brings the children and the OPTIMIST pay for the event. This was the fifth year and NO newspaper has ever given the Optimist coverage. Something nice for a change. Only see bad things that are done NEVER GOOD!

Very selective reporting. There were dozens of vicious assaults, rapes and shootings that were not covered; I wonder why? Probably because there simply isn't a big enough hard drive invented yet to store all the crime incidents that happen every day here.
