SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - The high school senior from San Carlos accused of causing the death of another teenager outside of AT&T Park had his bail reduced Wednesday, but was also ordered by the judge to refrain from drinking.

Taylor Buckley, 18, is accused of punching Redwood City resident Anthony Giraudo, also 18, outside the ballpark in the waning moments of a San Francisco Giants-Philadelphia Phillies game Friday night.

Giraudo’s head hit the concrete, causing brain injuries that would lead to his death.

At Buckley’s arraignment for involuntary manslaughter Wednesday, Judge Ernest Goldsmith agreed to lower bail from $1 million to $200,000.

Buckley was allowed to postpone entering a plea until his next court date on June 25.

Defense attorney Douglas Horngrad argued for an amount below $100,000, saying his client was unlikely to flee, due to Bay Area family roots, a job at a milkshake shop and college plans for the fall.

Assistant District Attorney George Butterworth argued for a higher bail, saying that Buckley “sucker-punched” Giraudo.

Butterworth also said Buckley and his friends were drinking before the fight occurred, and that one of his friends was ejected from the ballgame for intoxication.

Goldsmith ordered Buckley to refrain from drinking alcohol if he is released on bail.
