EUGENE, Ore. (Map, News) - Sen. Barack Obama addressed an enthusiastic crowd of University of Oregon students and got raucous cheers when he said his priority would be to end the war in Iraq, a war he said should never have begun.
"Bring them home," he said to loud cheers Saturday night. Obama was winding up a day of campaigning in western Oregon and is to speak in Bend on Saturday. His main rival for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton, also was in Oregon Friday but had left for Kentucky.
University of Oregon basketball coach Ernie Kent presented Obama with an Oregon basketball jersey.
