Teen charged with wrapping other teen in paper, setting fire

CORTE MEDARA, Calif. (Map, News) - A Marin County teenager is facing assault charges after authorities say he wrapped up another teen in toilet paper and set him on fire.

Prosecutors say a 15-year-old Corte Madera boy has been charged in juvenile court with assault with a deadly weapon for the incident that took place last month in a skate park.

Police say after the suspect and some other teens wrapped up a 15-year-old Greenbrae boy in toilet paper, the Corte Madera teen set the toilet paper on fire.

Investigators say the victim allowed the other teens to wrap him up in the toilet paper, but he wasn't expecting the paper to be ignited.

The mother of the victim says her son is recovering from second-degree burns on his neck, ear, chin, arms and fingertips.

The names of the victim and the suspect are being withheld because of their ages.

Corte Madera is 10 miles North of SF and the Examiner doesn't spell the name of the town (Corte Medera sp) correctly. Bunk journalism.
