Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant holds the NBA's Most Valuable Player trophy before Game 2 with the Utah Jazz in an NBA Western Conference semifinal playoff basketball series at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Wednesday, May 7, 2008.

LOS ANGELES (Map, News) - Lakers star Kobe Bryant received his MVP trophy from NBA commissioner David Stern in a brief ceremony before Los Angeles faced Utah in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals Wednesday night.

"I'm at a loss for words, I don't know what to say," Bryant said as the Staples Center crowd of 18,997 roared its approval and chanted M-V-P. "I love you guys so much. We're going to play until June. Let's get this party started."

The 29-year-old Bryant was a runaway winner of his first MVP award, receiving 82 first-place votes and 1,100 points to far outdistance New Orleans' Chris Paul in the voting of 126 media members. The results were announced Tuesday

Following the presentation, Bryant's wife and two young daughters presented him with a bouquet of flowers at center court.

Kobe bryant, he's the best ,the moves, the talents, and all those things and achievements he has done, well in this case i support kobe if he decides to trade on the team that he likes to be trade with. Kobe is very different compare to michael jordan. But if kobe only realize that he have billions of fans watching every game the team will have he must think of a way on changing his bad publicity when it comes to trade matters. I think he has the right to choose whatever he wants to be. i hope the lakers mangement will let him do what he wants to do..that's all, KOBE BRYANT , a legend, and will become a history........

Kobe is self-destructing. We keep asking about Kupchak, Shaq, Phil, Jerry, Jeannie and Jim Buss? Where is Rob Pelinka? I don't remember these bombshells happening under Arn Tellem's watch. Why is Kobe doing true confessions on radio stations? Yes, he is responsible for his own actions, but I don't think he's being advised well. Kobe doesn't like being hated, but he's dragging downward. I'm just asking the question, no accusation, but Kobe is being despondent on the airwaves and this should have been stopped before all this damage.

MJ's help was like superstars compaired to what Kobe has had these last few years. In the same regard kobe ought to want to work even harder to accomplish the mission of not having a super cast around him like mike did to get him another ring.
