Money raised for boy's funeral expenses was stolen

SEVERN, Md. (Map, News) - The family of an Anne Arundel County boy killed by a falling tree branch says someone has stolen some of the money being raised to help pay the boy's funeral expenses.

Two of the 10 collection cans placed around Glen Burnie were found stolen last week.

Seven-year-old Steven Richards was killed April 9 while playing in his own yard on Telegraph Road when the branch fell on his head.

Steven's mother, Jenn Titchenell, and his aunt Kathy Clark, say a security camera wasn't operating when they believe a can placed at a pizza shop was taken last week.

Steven's father has taken a second job to cover the funeral bills.
