Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Aggressive driving: Officers responded to Bay and Kearny streets at 6 p.m. April 13 on a call of a man breaking into cars. The suspect was confronted, but before he could be apprehended, he got into his vehicle and attempted to run over an officer. During the pursuit, the suspect attempted to ram another police vehicle with his own. As the suspect fled, he ran into three parked cars before he was taken into custody on various charges including aggravated assault on police, auto burglary and various traffic violations.

Northern

Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch

Cabbie robbed: Officers responded to Franklin and Vallejo streets at 2:55 a.m. April 10 regarding a cab driver being robbed. The driver told the officers that the suspect pulled out a knife on him and demanded money. The driver complied and gave the money to the suspect.

Son robs mom: Officers responded to the 800 block of Grove Street at 12:30 p.m. April 11 on an assault call. When the officers approached the area, the suspect took off running and ignored their request to stop running. Officers were able to take him into custody after a short struggle. The officers met with the victim, the suspect’s mother. The suspect, who has a drug problem, allegedly stole her DVD/VCR player. The suspect later forced his way into the house and began ransacking it. When the mother confronted him, he admitted to pawning the DVD/VCR player and demanded money for the receipt. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked.

Southern

South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero

Drug bust: Officers conducting a narcotics operation near Turk and Market streets April 12 observed numerous narcotics transactions by a drug dealer who had a lookout. The officers seized numerous rocks of crack cocaine from the dealer. The dealer also had seven baggies of marijuana and 11 pills of Ecstasy in his socks. The officers also seized more than $1,200 from the drug dealer.
