FREDERICK, Md. (Map, News) - A student at the Maryland School for the Deaf was indicted Friday on rape charges after an incident that allegedly took place in a dorm basement last year.
Assistant State's Attorney Tammy M. Leache said 17-year-old Kaeshaun Malik Willis of Randallstown was indicted on five charges, including second-degree rape. Willis was 16 when the alleged rape took place, but was charged as an adult.
The alleged assault took place on October 27 after Willis and a 17-year-old woman exchanged text messages and he went to her dorm's basement, where she let him in, according to court documents.
Willis was arrested on April 8 and released on $35,000 bail.
