Loius Derosa...I bet you are really proud that your Barbarians team beat the the SF cardinals, but Lowell best players are playing for a much better team and didn't go to those games. Also, why are you still playing in a high school league? You are out of high school and probably done with baseball. As for Lick as a school, it is a fact that their varsity team (their only team) plays in a JV league every summer.

A rotation of these four pitchers: Guibert, Brydon, Mora and Andrick vs. the BCL teams. The BCL hitters can pick up thier thumbs at home plate now.

Is the Transbay Series a good idea? My first thought is NO! It's an after thought for the AAA players. The pinnacle is winning the CITY Championship at AT&T. The only positive side of the Transbay is the players get an extra two/three games for the season and a game in a Major League park. The series could be better serve as an ALL STAR game of AAA players. But then again you'll have a coach(ISA) thinking all of the AAA players should be reconized. You'll have some coach(Galileo) from a team who made the playoffs who thinks he has a four college players that should be playing. The complaint would be there are too many Lowell and Washington players filling out the roster. The Oakland teams use the Transbay as their Championship because they play a round robin, there would be more incentive for AAA players to do well and represent the City.

How bout this: Let's meet at Big Rec at some point this summer. ANY player from the BCL west, feel free to come down and try to get a hit off me, it won't happen. I'll try to get Evan down there too, and nobody can touch him either. Maybe Max Newman and O'Koyea would be down to come, and any delusional BCL pitchers can come down and try to get them out? Heck maybe if we get enough guys together, it could just be top AAA players on one team vs. BCL, then we'll all see whats up. What do you guys think?

There isn't a single pitcher in the BCL who is within 5 mph of Brydon, Guibert, and Tom Mora. Andrick throws like 10 mph harder than anyone in the BCL. Lincoln was swept by Bal, and was NOT one of the top 3 teams in the AAA.

Any BCL players get invited to the Bay Area World Series yet? Any at the Area Code tryouts? Any at the North/South tryouts? All you BCL palyers who didn't get invited can answer that one?

1)Besides Mike Anderick, the rest of the BCL pitchers throw as hard as the AAA. 2)Urban could put up a fight against Lincoln, who is one of the top 3 teams in the AAA.

Is there a single pitcher in the BCL west who can throw over 80 mph? And is there a single batter who can hit a ball 400 feet? Cuz if anyone went to the AAA championship game in 2006, they would've seen O'Koyea Dickson hit two balls, both thrown over 80, at least 400 feet each. The weak teams in both leagues are pathetic, Urban vs. ISA, who cares... but the best teams and the best players are easily in the AAA. Is there anyone in the BCL getting looked at by D1s? Give up BCL.

Ok first of all none of us in SF cant do anything about the level of play of baseball. We cant make guys good, only the coaches and the players can make themselves good. O well I did have 13 RBIS in one game but what the hell you want me to do strike out each time we play a weak team. At Washington we dont pad up our stats we just go out and play baseball. Are coaching staff is great probably the best in the city. If we beat a team badly then we just do. People talking about they cant take the AAA batting averages seriously but if I were to play in a different league,I'll still be batting at least .380 and for the person that said Tommy Mora is better than me come on dude be 4REal with yoself. I still have a torn oblique but im still playing through it. Maybe im not the best player in S.F but most guys in S.F are not even going to make it anywhere. A tough non-league schedule means nothing when you don't win any of the games.

I really don't care how you want to break it down, we played team X, team X played you, by these scores we are evenly matched teams... you can make all the excuses you'd like, bottom line, Lowell 11, Lick Wilmerding 0. And yes, Michael is eleven feet tall; that does not mean he will likely get drafted. I hope he does, and I wish him the best of luck, but you are clearly speaking of an area in which you have zero experience, when it comes to the MLB draft. Gaston Guibert, you are so incompitent. Lincoln, who was a quality team in the AAA was beat 24-2 by Universtity. Lick beat Universtity 2 times, one time in which we won by 6 runs. Lowell played Lincoln decently close this year. Also what about Mike Shenk? Dude is a D1 prospect without doubt! In fact he will likely get drafted after his senior year in highschool.

One last thing regarding Newman vs. DeRosa, and Lowell vs. the BCL West... I'd take Newman because he has heart, and competitive drive that is completely lacking in the BCL West. Maybe Lick does have the same talent level as we do, and maybe DeRosa is as talented as Newman. Thing is, baseball isn't all about talent, it's about desire. People can doubt Lowell's talent and execution all they want, but nobody will ever be able to say we don't want victory as much or more than every team we play. Due to this, and the general apathy that is ubiquitous on Lick's side of the field, the game wasn't even a contest, and certainly wouldn't be if we played it again.

DeRosa or Newman? Is this a joke? As for the old "but we didn't play any of our starters!" routine, DeRosa was Lick's starting pitcher, and we blew him up. And it's not like we gave Lick our "A" lineup, every player on our roster got into that game, and every pitcher touched the mound. Newman has played at a higher level (last summer) than anyone from the BCL West can understand, and excelled. This argument reveals a lot about the delusions of the BCL West.

Lowell did beat Lick-Wilmerding in a scrimmage, but Lick didn't pitch any of its starters. Both teams are good; both won their leagues. It would make for a good game now.

Who cares about the AAA? The better competition is in the BCL West. Ive gone out to BCL games and the overall competition is much better than the AAA. Lick-Wilmerding could easily challenged washington or lowell in a game. They have 2 of the top 15 players in the city, and an outstanding freshman third baseman.

It's great to be able to have an argument over the best players in the AAA because it exemplifies that the league isn't a joke and has very talented teams and players. However, while acquiring 13 rbis in one game is amazing, it wasn't against one of the better teams in the league. I'm more interested in reading about the big match ups and how the best players came through in the clutch. Doesn't anyone go to station to station anymore instead of padding stats and running up the score?

The thing about these two teams is that Lowell has the better all-around program, while Washington has some bright spots with a lesser team aspect. Lowell has solid pitching, a 1-9 order and depth. The thing about Washington is that they have maybe 3 or 4 legit bats, 2 or 3 good pitchers, and a team full of illegal recruits. Tom Mora is a much better all-around player than Dickson is, and when he played against them last spring, he already knew he was transferring the next year. Complete bogus. Prep baseball is about letting the kids play, and not bending the rules to try and win every game by 40 or so runs. Bottom line, Lowell has a better overall program, while Wash's worst players should be playing at the junior varsity level.
