Article History Washington, D.C. (Map, News) - The commander behind D.C.'s foundering efforts to build a high-tech crime lab has been removed from his position, The Examiner has learned.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier announced the transfer of Cmdr. Christopher M. "Lojo" LoJacono Friday.
Lanier publicly supported LoJacono as late as February, even as she was stripping him of his authority over D.C.'s laboratory technicians.
LoJacono declined comment. Under his direction, the city's decades-old effort to build a high-tech crime lab suffered repeated setbacks. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of grants were "reprogramed" and few scientists were trained in 21st century forensics.
Former Council Member Kathy Patterson, a champion of the DNA lab, often clashed with LoJacono and accused him and the police brass of "foot-dragging."
Police spokeswoman Traci L. Hughes declined comment.
LoJacono's transfer was part of the second major reshuffling of the department's leadership in as many years. Among those moved were the popular commanders of the 2nd and 3rd police districts in Northwest, Andy Solberg and Larry McCoy. Solberg is now "a field commander" in the department's patrol division, working nights, and McCoy is moving to the newly created intelligence unit.
McCoy and Solberg said they were "disappointed" to leave their districts, but both said they were excited about their new assignments.
Neighborhood leaders said they were sorry to see the two commanders go. Typical was the response of Nancy MacWood, an advisory neighborhood commission chair in Woodley and Cleveland Parks, who said that Solberg's removal was "quite a blow."
In Lanier's previous shakeup last year, she demoted several prominent leaders, including Cmdr. Robin Hoey. Hoey challenged the demotion and was ordered reinstated by a city hearing officer.
The latest command shuffle comes as Lanier continues to struggle with organizing the force to address D.C.'s persistent violent crime.
Some are worried Lanier has created so many top jobs in various reorganizations that the department has become top heavy.
"The amount of command officials that the department now has is staggering," police union chair Kristopher Baumann said. "I would certainly hope that with those kind of salaries, we will see immediate results and immediate changes in crime patterns."

Andy Solberg, commander of 2nd district
Larry McCoy, commander of 3rd district
Christopher LoJacono, commander of forensic science division

Don't you all see the common denominator: BARRIE GREENBERG!!

You all loved her when her father was alive and taking care of you at the restaurant be it patron or employee. There are several terms that pop into my head for people like that but I will not stoop to the same level as most of you have. All the outsiders need to get on with their lives, keep you opinions to yourselves and let the families grieve in peace.

WOW......I am going to assume most of these posts are from adults but one really wouldn't be able to tell by the outragious comments being made. It all sounds like grade school kids playing telephone. Someones suggests Barrie was cheating (which I am SURE started at the Rosie's Rumour Mill) and next thing she is being run out of a town for sleeping around. People are casting stones all the way from Southern California to the State of Oregon and back out to Nevada. I can understand the families and CLOSE friends needing to vent, by all means, get it out. Holding it in only hurts more. But random people throwing so much animosity all over the net. Hope nothing extreme or tragic ever happens to you because you will feel the same rath you are dishing out here. My thoughts and prayers are with all parties INVOLVED. And god forbid Barrie read any of this but I will drop everything and help her and Hannah in anyway and that also includes moving her as far away from all of this as possible. I

I just today heard the bad news about Anthony. I would not say that I was a close friend or a friend of Anthony. We were just "friendly". I moved to Placerville only about 6 years ago and knew him less then that. But we spend some quality time, talking about Politics, guns, hunting etc. I was very impressed with his ethics, manners and general attitude toward life. He was a real good young man and had it been my son, I would have been extremely proud of it. He was polite, level headed and about the last guy I would have ever imagined something like this happening too! Now as far as this Greenberg goes, lets get some facts straight. Anthony was unarmed when he was murdered. Anthony could not have ever imagined that there was ANY chance of any danger. If he had, he would have come wellarmed to face any confrontation. This Greenberg, was an 11 year vetern Police Officer. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing and deserves absolutely no mercy or sympathy. What he did was cowardly!

The only family that saw Morris somehow was the stepmother putting on a good show for the folks in San Bruno. After all she is a huge part of what tore this family apart with her academy role performance married to Mo's dad, as the gold digger. Morris ia a wonderful dad and a good provider, a family man who gave up everything for her. Barrie never appreciated what she had in him. Nothing was ever good enough...but he loved her and gave up his family for her. She did not want to share him with anyone. How long has her little affair been going on... as she was surely sharing. How sad for Hannah to loose her dad because of her mothers infidelity and affliction with the "me syndrome". One would think she would have grown up by now, at her age. How sad for the man who lost his life because of whatever Barrie conned him into thinking he needed from her. She is a viper and has sucked the life out of many. Prayers to both men's families.

I really can't believe what I am reading here. The idiots with their little conspiracy theories and the ones talking like they are lawyers, who the hell are you people. Lets start seeing some names from all of you out there that seem to be "all knowing." Then we will find out how many people here actually know the families and have a right to post something. Morris had no right to do what he did. Marriage wasn't working out, financial problems, whatever, that's life. Just because things are going bad or against you does not give you the right to take someones life and as a former Law Enforcement Officer you think he would have known that. Anthony was a brother to me. I love him and am a better person for having known him. We had an amazing person taken away from us. Issues with women? If he was married before, how many women were there between his marriage and this woman? I assume at 26 years old, there could not be too many. Sounds like the wife was in the right to be controlling and I am sure his family wishes she had been more controlling at this point. They would still have their son.
